Great Night!

Charlotte has been moved from the jet vent (which vibrated her whole body) to another vent which depends on her to breath more on her own.  She is not breathing on her own, but it's not a high frequency vent like the last.  It's a great first step in the right direction :)  I assisted in bathing her today, rubbed her with lotion and took her temp.  Her feedings are back up to 8cc's.  Tomorrow, if all goes well on the new vent, we can start holding her and doing kangroo care.  YAY!  It can only be done once a day though so me and dad will have to take turns.  She smiled alot today as she ate.  It melted my heart and was a great end to the evening.  While we bathed her she was screaming.  Well we couldn't hear her because of her tubes, but you could see it in her expressions that if we could she'd be screaming her head off.  It made me laugh, not because it was funny, but because she's making good strides and was cute (for now anyhow lol).  Tomorrow they will also be taking the humidity out of her isolete so we can dress her from now on or she'll be swaddled.  There really aren't clothes that would fit her right now so we probably won't really buy much.  Even the preemie clothes are too big for her right now (I'm telling you the pictures you see are very deceiving in her size).  Sorry for the dark pic below, but they had the night lights on.  I'm sure you get the idea though, her first night dressed :)
