Well I didn't leave crying today so that's a plus haha. I ordered a preemie book and I can't wait to get it (hopefully by Friday). It'll help me and D to understand some of the NICU lingo and help me to better describe it to you. I also got a journal today so I can write stuff down as they tell me so I don't forget as much.
Here are some of her stats if they make sense to anybody. If they don't at least you'll be able to tell improvement over the weeks.
Blood Pressure 45/31 (a little high for a preemie, but nothing to constitute meds) her MAP is at 35 which is good, they want it over 30 at her age.
Oxygen on her respirator is at 20%-30%
This morning they tested her kidneys and her whatever levels are suppose to be about .7 and they are 1.4 which is a sign that she could be on her way to kidney failure. Which would also explain her belly being bloated-she is retaining the fluid because her kidneys aren't working properly. They are going to continue to monitor and either it'll clear up on it's own or she may need dialysis until they mature. Again, all normal for her age.
They do want to resume feedings asap so they are going to monitor her over the next 24-48 hours and may try again. She will get another brain scan on Friday or Monday to check on those abnormal spots, which again (I'm probably gonna say that alot haha) is nothing to be concerned about at her age especially since there is no bleed.
She weighs 2lbs 5oz, this may sound good, but they really don't want her to gain weight too fast. This too could be from the fluids she is retaining. Her lungs are continuing to improve especially when her oxygen levels stay up around 90-100. WOOT WOOT!
As far as my pain, I was doin GREAT when I went to go see her and now I am in a lot of pain. It could be because I had just taken a pain pill before I went. I still ride in a wheel chair when I go to the hospital though because I don't want to push it. If I over do it, that means I can not go see her. Which is what happened for our second trip yesterday :(
Thanks for sharing your journey with us Bridget. Know that we love you and pray for you and Charlotte Mae many times throughout the day.
