Updates

Apparently my last update from my phone was lost.  It's been an exhausting couple of days.  We got a call Thursday night to come back to the hospital because our little girl coded and at that point they didn't know why.  By the time we got to the hospital they had her stable, but critical.  She blew a hole in her lung and was put on a breathing machine with 95% oxygen and blood pressure meds.  This is apparently very common in preemies and it is highly likely she will blow her other one.  Lets hope she's a rarity and doesn't.  They also tried feeding her during the day and have since stopped feedings.  Her belly was a bit extended today so they x-rayed her to see what was going on.  It really didn't show anything, but what they are looking for was irritation in her intestines.  Also very common, they suspected a tear which would require surgery.  No tear! WOOT WOOT!  They also did her brain scan last night and found no bleeds (this is routine in preemies and most have bleeds), however they did find a few abnormal spots that are hopefully nothing and will clear up.  Another brain scan will be done next week.

We came in tonight to find that her nurse made her a sign for her blankie that goes over her incubiator.  It's so cute and I was touched.  I'm glad she's crafty because she will be the one doing her foot prints tonight.  Miss Charlotte has gained 2oz which is FANTASTIC because like most newborns preemies also lose weight within the first 7 days of birth so she is ahead of herself.  Well, I'm exhausted and in pain so I'm off to bed before I have to wake up in a few hours to pump more breast milk.  If something doesn't make sense, sorry I'm not proofreading tonight lol.  Continued prayers please.
